Sept. 11 Commemorations

September 9, 2002
  • GCC Sept. 11 Commemoration – Program will include GCC orchestra,
    college speakers, a local firefighter who volunteered at Ground Zero,displays and
    flags. Plaza Vaquero. Noon. Open to all.

  • Pasadena – The city of Pasadena will be hosting a community event to remember those lost in New York City, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., and those who helped in the recovery efforts of Sept. 11. The event will be held on Sept. 11 and will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a procession at the corner of Arroyo Parkway and Union Street, then proceed east on Holly Street to Pasadena City Hall.   • Los Angeles – The city of Los Angeles is hosting a group of events to pay tribute to the victims and heroes of Sept. 11 entitled “L.A. REMEMBERS.” The events will be held on Sept. 11 and will begin with a procession of vehicles at 5:46 a.m., traveling throughout the entire city of L.A. A Wall of Remembrance will also be featured.
