The annual graduation ceremony at GCC with all the graduates in caps and gowns and faculty in their robes and hoods is a memorable occasion for students and their families. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 7:00p.m. at Sartoris Athletic Field on the campus of Glendale Community College. We strongly encourage you to take part in this celebration of your success.

The following information will help you prepare for graduation. Please keep these details on hand for your personal reference.

Graduation Day: On the day of the ceremony please arrive dressed in your cap and gown by

6:15 p.m. in the Library Patio to form the procession line. There will be a room assigned where

graduates may leave their personal items during the ceremony. The procession of graduates to

Sartoris Field will begin at 6:45 p.m. sharp.

Graduation Practice: Duplicate practices will be held on Monday, June 1st in the Auditorium. The first practice is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and the second practice will be held at 6:00 p.m. Each practice will last for approximately 30 minutes. We strongly recommend that you attend at least one of the sessions.

Photographs: Due to the nature of the event no photographers will be allowed on Sartoris Field during the ceremony. However, all students participating in the ceremony will be professionally photographed on stage and receive a free color proof by mail. There is no obligation on the part of the student to place an order nor is the college responsible if students do not receive a proof. For further information please check www.gradimages.com

Caps and Gowns: After April 27th caps and gowns may be purchased for $37 plus tax in the Bookstore. Various sizes will be available for you to try on in advance. If you think you need an oversized gown, please contact the Bookstore immediately at 240-1000, ext. 3023. There is an additional shipping charge for special and late orders.

Out-of-town Graduates: You will be able to purchase a cap and gown at the Bookstore on

Wednesday, June 10, from 8:00a.m. until5:00 p.m.

Commencement Ceremony and Reception: Parents and friends are invited to attend the ceremony. No tickets are necessary. You and your guests are also invited to an on-campus reception hosted by thefASGCC immediately following the graduation ceremony.

Map and Directions: Included with this letter is a detailed map to help you and your guests make arrangements for this special occasion. Please read it carefully. You will be more comfortable on the day of graduation if you clearly understand the details that pertain to you.

Parking for Disabled: If you or your guests need disabled parking and have a valid California placard, please contact the GCC Police Department at (818) 551-5205 for parking information. Also, there will be a “drop off only” zone near Sartoris Field as indicated on the map.
