GCC football captured its second home win this season against San Diego Mesa on Saturday. The Vaqueros silenced the Olympians 41-6.
Quarterback John Murphy threw for over 300 yards on 22-32 with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Running back Marquise McGuire ran for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Wide receiver Brock Kap had nearly 150 yards. GCC took care of the ball with no fumbles.
The Vaqueros led 20-0 at halftime.

Vaqs’ defense was strong. GCC allowed only 109 yards passing with three sacks and 26 yards rushing.
The only points scored by the Olympians came in the 4th quarter on the last drive.
As they move to 2-1 overall, GCC looks to continue the winning formula at home on Sept. 28 when they face Antelope Valley College at 6 p.m.
