Elana Edelstein

The Assistant Director of Communications, Marketing and Foundation, Elana Edelstein, has recently been elected the 2004 President of the Burbank Junior Chamber.

Mona Field Awarded

Mona Field, political science professor, was presented with the Emil Freed Award by the Southern California Library for Social Studies and Research on March 27. She is currently the president of the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees and vice president of the California Federation of Teachers.?

Avaitation Maintenance Changes Hours

The Aviation Maintenance Program will be changed to an evening-only program in future semesters. This change will allow more space to be available in the new Allied Health Building, which is still under construction.

Increase in Campus Clubs

Student involvement seems to be way up this year, as the Associated Students of Glendale Community College presented the number of clubs on campus at the Board of Trustees meeting on March 15. There are currently 30 clubs registered on campus, as compared to 12 registered clubs last year.

Latino Issues Discussed

In an effort to express diverse opinion, GCC will hold two discussion groups. The Latino Issues group will meet to discuss “the problems” Latinos face in education on April 8. The college will also host an Armenian Community Relations meeting on April 9.
