Professor Sally Black, Passed Away Jan. 26.

Sally Canning Black RN MN, Associate Professor of Nursing, had been deeply involved with the GCC nursing program. She began as a vocational nursing student, then returned to complete her RN, as part of GCC’s first career ladder RN group.
Sally then earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Azusa Pacific University and her master’s from UCLA. She returned in 1989 as a full-time nursing faculty member.
Sally passed away on January 26.
Survived by husband Patrick K. Black, son Eric Rapp and grandson Brendan Rapp.
Services were held Thursday at Forest Lawn Glendale in the Little Church of the Flowers Chapel.
