The GCC Conservative Club raised $619 by organizing a “Sponsor a Flag and Support Our Troops” event, held in Plaza Vaquero on May 29 thru 31. People were offered the opportunity to write a letter to the troops or to sponsor a flag. They also accepted donations and sold patriotic pins, magnetsa and baked goods.
“The success of the event exceeded our expectations,” said Melissa Cassara, leader of the Conservative Club. “We would really like to thank everyone for their donations and letters.”
