Former GCC Superintendent/President Dr. John A. Davitt underwent successful surgery at Glendale Adventist Hospital Thursday afternoon for a pinched nerve and slipped disk, according to a campus e-mail by GCC Superintendent/President Dr. Audre Levy.
“It’s anticipated that he will be in the hospital for one week followed by four to five weeks of recovery at home,” Levy wrote. “At this time, his son is suggesting no visitors; however, [Dr. Davitt] would appreciate cards, and those can be sent to Glendale Adventist. I know he would welcome receiving your well wishes.”
Davitt retired July 3 as president/superintendent of GCC after 21 years in that position.
