The GCC campus reopened Wednesday after a mudslide on Mountain Street between Verdugo Road and the Glendale (2) Freeway prompted officials to close the college to ease traffic so crews could clean up the mess.

As of Thursday, the only remnants of the mudslide were dusty streets, a hole in the side of the hill where the slide began and dried mud on sidewalks.

All classes and services were cancelled at 4 p.m. Monday. Further up the hill, students from College View School were evacuated.

The Professional Development Center in Montrose and the Child Development Center were unaffected, according to college administrators.
