Airline Offering $1 Fights for Sept. 11
August 14, 2002
National Airlines says it will cut its fares for that day to $1, and it plans to donate the proceeds to a fund set up to benefit the families of the flight crews who perished in last year’s terrorist attacks.
National offers service to 10 cities around the country from its Las Vegas hub.
In a statement, the carrier said customers must purchase a roundtrip ticket in order to get the $1 fare, and no minimum stay is required. Anyone who already has a ticket to fly on National on Sept. 11 will receive travel credit.
Last week, free Sept. 11 tickets offered by Spirit Airlines were snapped up in a matter of hours.
