The University of Oregon Marching Band (OMB) contracted with Glendale Community College to use Sartoris Field to practice on Dec. 29, 30 and 31. The purpose, to prepare for its appearance at the Rose Bowl, where they performed a pre-game set, the National Anthem and their main performance during the half-time show in Pasadena.

The OMB is one of the University of Oregon’s largest student-led organizations with more than 200 members from nearly every department on campus. With a long tradition of exceptional musicianship, the OMB performance is called the “Wall of Sound.”

The OMB provides a variety of drum corps programs. Woodwind and brass players provide the melody while the drumline maintains the heartbeat of the ensemble.
Three days later the Oregon Ducks went on to win the Rose Bowl for the first time in 95 years against the Wisconsin Badgers 45-38.
