The Architectural Design and Digital Drafting program is hosting the fourth annual Architectural Student Projects Exhibition in AT 229.

The gallery has relocated to the Advanced Technology building this year after being held in the library’s gallery for its past three showings.

“The change in location has allowed us much more freedom in how we design our presentation for the projects,” said architecture professor Paul Chiu.

The design of the gallery was a class project as well and features seven models created by students.

A section of the classroom is dedicated to a slideshow and video presentation created by Patrick Johansson.

Jesus Gaytan’s concept model is a commercial project for Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles. The project took three days to build.

“The inspiration for my model was to bring the environment and an inviting and friendly feel in the city,” said Gaytan, 21.

Chiu said that the conceptual drawings can take a semester or even two to complete.

Students whose work is featured are Chung Ming Chiu, Patrick Johansson, Jesus Gaytan, Gagik Nazaryan, Sharis Manoukian, Ronald Hernandez, Tony Min, Hamlet Sarkisyan, Randi Robins and Mitchell Morales.

The gallery is open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and runs through Friday. Refreshments are provided.
