The Auburn University Marching Band stopped by Sartoris Field on Jan. 4 for a practice session prior to their BCS National Championship game appearance in Pasadena against Florida State. Due to one of the eight band busses having mechanical problems on the way to Glendale the practice was both started late and ended early.
Number one ranked Florida State went on to beat Auburn (ranked number two) 34-31 for the national championship in a high scoring, thrilling contest. Florida came back to score and clinch the title with only 79 seconds remaining for the final drive.
