Glendale Community College history professor Dr. Leon Waszak has been invited to give a presentation at the Oxford Round Table at Oxford University in England on Aug. 14.
He joins other invited speakers from public and private colleges and universities from around the world.
Globalization is the theme of the Round Table, which is held through Aug. 18. Waszak will give his presentation, “National Interests vs. Globalization: Differing Historical Perspectives Since the 18th Century,” on the opening day of the event.
First convening in 1989, the purpose of the Oxford Round Table is to promote human advancement and understanding through the improvement of education.
Invitations to attendees are extended after several screening processes, including nomination by previous participants, recommendations by Round Table directors, and awards received by local and national organizations.
