LOS ANGELES (AP) – The brother of a woman shot and killed this summer at a Los Angeles International Airport ticket counter has been declared brain dead following a hit-and-run accident, police said Monday.
Authorities were seeking information to find the driver who caused the Nov. 16 accident that left Nim Hen brain dead.
Hen is the younger brother of Victoria Hen, 25, who died along with another bystander after a gunman opened fire July Fourth at the ticker counter of El Al, the Israeli national airline. The gunman was shot and killed by an airline security guard.
Nim Hen’s accident happened in Chatsworth after he swerved to avoid a sedan coming out of a shopping mall, police said in a statement.
Hen swerved into oncoming traffic, collided with a parked SUV and then smashed into a fire hydrant. A passenger in Hen’s car also was seriously injured, police said.
“Because the driver of the vehicle causing Mr. Hen to swerve failed to stop and identify themselves and render aid, he or she was in violation of the (law),” police said.
