STANTON, Calif. (AP) _ An 11-year-old girl who vanished two days ago was being sought Thursday after getting into a sport utility vehicle not far from the site where 5-year-old Samantha Runnion was kidnapped in July, authorities said.
Nelly Marie Nunez Bianca was playing in front of her Stanton home with a friend at about 7 p.m. Tuesday when she was seen getting into a black or blue SUV, Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
She vanished about a mile from the yard where Runnion was abducted on July 15 as she played with a friend. Runnion’s body was later found along a mountain road in Lake Elsinore.
The mother of Bianca delayed reporting her missing for several hours because she thought she had to wait 24 hours, Amormino said.
The driver was described as being 16 to 18 years old, with a shaved head.
Bianca apparently had spent time recently logged on to Internet chat rooms. Authorities were concerned that she may have met the driver online and gone with him voluntarily, Amormino said.
