LOS ANGELES (AP) _ The Screen Actors Guild is making Clint Eastwood’s day.

“Clint Eastwood is truly a film icon, a celebrated star of international magnitude,” SAG president Melissa Gilbert said in making the announcement Tuesday.
“His prolific career as an actor and filmmaker demonstrates a total command of the medium that has rightly earned him the admiration of his peers, the industry and the public. Over the past 42 years, he has starred in a remarkable 44 films and appeared in 55,” she said.
The actor’s film credits include “Space Cowboys,” “The Bridges of Madison County,” “Heartbreak Ridge,” “Pale Rider,” “Honkytonk Man,” “Bronco Billy,” “The Outlaw Josey Wales,” “The Eiger Sanction,” “High Plains Drifter,” “Play Misty For Me,” “Escape from Alcatraz,” “Every Which Way But Loose,” “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” “Magnum Force” and “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.”
